Paper Graphics

11Sep

Found this artist, Yuko Yamamoto, via nebo peklo blog.

yuko1She makes these gorgeous paper plant cuttings. I can’t imagine how precise and intricate you must be to to do this.

Yuko also creates these beautiful graphic art pieces which I believe are also paper cutouts:

Big cable knits, wide scarves, rustic boots… yes please. I love fall and you can sense it’s right around the corner. I especially love what you can wear — just a sweater and a scarf and you’re good to go. When it becomes fall and winter, I always want to dress like a European. That’s why I’m loving these pieces from Toast, a UK based company.

AW09_1_PG10AW09_1_PG97AW09_1_PG48AW09_1_PG27I love the heavy tights with the brown boots. I think I’ll have to try that this season. And I love the long dress in the last one!

Cuuuuuuuute.

How can you not smile over these ridiculously cute characters drawn by The Small Object?

stampsSweetToothMr. Postman is fancy:

stampsDirtThe best part? They’re STAMPS! That’s right — that toothy grin can be anywhere.

I love ridiculous and silly characters like that as I do my dogs.

Wedding inspiration

08Sep

My sister is getting married next summer. (yay!)  I’m going to design all of the wedding-y paper goods so this past weekend we went to the site of the ceremony and reception for some inspiration.

weddingsite1weddingsite2weddingsite3It’s a farm ‘n’ barn setting with fun rustic/charm features. We’re thinking yellows, oranges, peachy, robin’s egg blue, and a pop of fuchsia.

These colors work beautifully and incorporate some of the same colors we like (via stylemepretty)

This gorgeous inspiration board (via snippet & ink) has most of the colors we’re thinking — even a barn!

Vintage Swiss

07Sep

I think all graphic designers look to their design forefathers for guidance and inspiration. Back to the beginning where Swiss graphic design shook up the world.

267876862_4e58c7a87eThe boldness of its simplicity.

269418230_8a7ee945f8And the typography … oh the typography is so delicious it makes me drool.

Squirrel family and friends

04Sep

As you might have noticed on the header of my blog, I heart animals. Especially when incorporated into designs like this squirrel vases set from prettyrandomobjects:

il_430xN.81247962Or these prints from yumiyumi’s etsy shop ( and her blog) — I love bears (see header) and this little print, “I can count to eight”, makes me a happy camper.

il_430xN.74326831And this little sweet fox print is for my sister who “loves” foxes:

il_430xN.86952134Wouldn’t those prints be a lovely addition to a child’s room?

After realizing how much inspiration and entertainment I benefit from other creative and design blogs, I’m finally venturing to create one of my own. Now I can share what I find inspiring and creative and also showcase amazing creatives. I’m also testing out my blogging development skills as I’ve made this blog from scratch using Wordpress!

Hope you enjoy!
