My first Pillow

diy amy butler pillowI finally finished the “Snow Mum” Pillow from a free pattern by Amy Butler.

Here’s her example:

Amy Butler snow mumPretty similar, right? I think it turned out quite nice for someone who is just starting to learn sewing on a machine. It was time consuming, mostly because I didn’t know what I was doing and there were a few minor “kinks” in my sewing machine. Next time it’ll be much faster. ( If anyone’s trying this pattern out, a little tip — just skip the fusible webbing. You can just sew up the pillow really easily without it. )

wow- that’s pretty darn good for someone who’s just starting to learn! I can only sew straight lines, so this is encouraging :)

Thanks! Ironically, the flower part was actually pretty easy and making the actual pillow was the hardest part for me. Go Figure!

Thanks! It’s a wool-felt blend so it’s pretty soft but also sturdy. I like the white from the example but I was afraid it would yellow/get dirty over time, you know?
