Hand-drawn, letterpress animal cards with a twist by Dandy Lion Press are beautiful. I love the big, sketchy illustrations on colored paper:
So lovely how they pay attention to the whole card space — extending the design around to the back and using little elements that coordinate the card to the envelope.

Orlando the Cat was an illustrated series from the 1930s thru the early 70s featuring a marmalade cat and his adventures. The illustrated covers are hilarious, creative and just so silly. Something about vintage, illustrated cats makes me laugh…
(sorry this one is so small…I just love it though that I had to put it in!)

Finding an artist who seems to loves bears just as much as I do is a treat. Japanese illustrator and crafter, I Like Sleeping portrays bears in numerous mediums but I love the illustrations:

I was one Happy Camper this weekend at Shenandoah National Park. Want to know why? Not only did my family and I did some great hiking with gorgeous vistas, we saw bears! And not just one, four! And not just adults but two cubs!
We even were stopped by one along the trail who ran up a tree! We saw the cubs wrestle with one another, try to turn up rocks for insects and follow their mother who happened to be following the Appalachian Trail. I was in heaven.

Reason number 4, 542 I need to go to Japan: Cat cafes. That’s right, get a cup of coffee and an hour’s worth of petting a cat for a 1000 yen or so.
Apparently, they are peaceful and quiet atmospheres — sounds so inviting if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Tokyo for a bit.
