Wishing everyone a happy and tasty Thanksgiving today surrounded with friends and family.
Everyone’s got their favorite classic dishes on this day. I know I’m looking forward to these:

Food Gawker is the Playboy of food photography. It’s to showcase and share recipes but most importantly, it shows off gorgeous food with beautiful photography. Completely irresistible.

Yum.
Also, isn’t this such a fun idea? A trap door in the kitchen floor which leads to a wine cellar. How romantic. I’d buy the house just for this!

Michael Pollan is a brilliant author, teacher at UC Berkeley, and essayist who has written The Omnivore’s Dilemma and In Defense of Food among others. If you want to know what you’re eating, how it got to your plate, how it was grown, and what it does to your body after you’ve eaten it… read those two books. They’ll change your life (in a better way, I promise!)
So I have to say that Michael Pollan is a personal hero of mine. And I recently discovered that his wife, Judith Belzer is a painter who paints marvelous tree details in a new way.
The SFGate recently published an article of Pollan’s newly designed functional garden in their Berkeley home.

Their garden space is only 600 sq feet and for someone who advocates eating what you’ve grown, he’s done a good job of advertising that you don’t need a large farm to do it!
